Children who are at least age 12 and who are born on or after January 1, 1988 may operate an ATV on public riding areas, (trails, frozen waters, open county and forest areas, etc) if they hold a valid WI ATV safety certificate. Other state agency and provincial safety certificates are accepted in WI.

The trails are currently closed for spring breakup

The trails reopen the friday before Memorial day.

Burnett county offers almost 90 miles of trails/routes in its system. You may also access over 500 miles of adjoining trails in both Minnesota and Wisconsin from our trail system making it a wonderfull time for a full weekend of riding.




2007 Trail Maps
The new maps are now out. See the trail map page for more information. They will be available at most of the advertised sponsors locations. Burnett County donated 750 dollars towards the printing and distribution of this years map.


ATV SAFETY COURSE

The Burnett County Law Enforcment Citizens Auxiliary and Burnett County Sheriff Dept. will be holding a Wisconsin DNR ATV safety course on May 2nd and 3rd at the goverment center in Siren. If you wish to sign up or need more info, Please call Stacy at 715/349-2121

If you were born AFTER Jan 1st 1988 you must have a safety certificate to legally ride the trails on an atv.

20mph on all roads
