A motion was made by Dean Joersz, seconded by Rick Thompson to approve the financial report as read.

Carl acknowledged and thanked Burl Johnson for organizing the poker run and donating the proceeds to the club. Also, thanks to Burl for providing the food for the club members at the picnic. Thanks also went to Oakridge and all the workers for participating in the booya last week

Dean Joersz reported that the trail from Haps to Danbury is open and people have been riding on it and there are a few more signs to put up. He said there are some spots that are narrow so care should be taken while riding. Richard McIntyre signed Lincoln Township and Lynn Jawish has been working with Grantsburg Township in an effort to open new trails there. She will be presenting a map at the October 12 meeting with the hope that an ordinance will be passed and take effect next year. Forestry received a grant and will be putting gravel on seven miles of Trail 8 from the Fishbowl to Lakes Road. The bridge over Hay Creek is in need of some major repairs and Anderson Bridge will be inspecting it to see if they will repair it.

Cheryl Gray is coordinating a club ride to take place on Friday, October 2. Anyone interested was urged to contact Cheryl for the details.

The officers and board of directors met last Saturday and discussed the revision to the club bylaws. It was decided that they would work on it over the winter and present the proposed changes at the first meeting next spring and take a club vote at the second meeting next year.

Also, at the meeting last Saturday, the purchase of a new tractor was discussed. Baribeau Implement will sell us a new 2009 tractor for $11,900.00 with our trade in. There will also be a cost of $750 for an additional hydraulic valve for a total cost to the club of $12,650. The decision to purchase the new tractor was made based on the cost of an additional two year warranty on the old tractor. The club voted unanimously to approve the purchase.

The fall fund raiser was discussed and Carl called for volunteers. We need at least 15 people to work and several people volunteered. There have been 865 tickets sold so far for a total of $7,605. We need $6,400 to cover the price of the prizes and the insurance on the ATV. Members were urged to get their tickets collected and to Carl.

The club has earned $15,695 so far this year for trail grooming and maintenance. There is about $8,500 left on our contract which will expire on July 1.

There was a brief discussion on the idea of merging with the Cozy Corner Club and Carl said it was just a thought because the groomer deadheads about 12 miles on St. Croix up by Hillside. The Cozy Corner club has discussed is also giving the merger consideration. We will talk to them again in the spring.

A short discussion took place on the idea of purchasing 5 acres of land near the Webb Lake Town Hall where we could some day in the future build a club building. Carl will be checking into that possibility

Winner of the drawing was Norman Both.

Motion was made by Greg Main, seconded by Elmer Both to adjourn the meeting. Meeting adjourned at 11:15 a.m.

                                        Respectfullly submitted,

                                        Mary Anne Thompson, Secretary
