Members who worked as volunteers at the Mud Bog in Danbury on May 16 were thanked for their time and services.

Carl explained that when he asks for people to volunteer to do trail work that he doesn’t call people, he just presumes that members will work when they have the time. There is still a need for people to trim trees and brush around signs but that work must be done on week days now that the trails are open. Harold Beedy and Larry Koch volunteered to do some of the work this coming week.

Larry Dale advised that trails are now open from Siren to Haps and he is still working on trails to Danbury. There seems to be a situation with about 1300 feet of private land. If access permission to that land isn’t secured, he will try another alternative. He will be attending a meeting of the town board on June 9 at the Swiss Town Hall regarding ATV travel in Danbury. He asked that Danbury business members and club members try to get to that meeting. He said the more people the better.

Members were reminded again to check their membership expiration date because many memberships expire in April and May.

There is a need for people to volunteer to take the ATV to businesses and functions during the next months and sell raffle tickets. Several members took it to Oakridge and Rosenthal’s and sold 192 tickets. We have been invited to the Chicog Fire Department function on July 25 but no one volunteered to go. We have many tickets to sell and there are many different places to go and the same people can’t be expected to do all the selling. There should be four or five people for each occasion. A few people volunteered and will coordinate with Larry Dale to get the ATV. Carl also stated that we will be needing volunteers for the fall fund raiser event in October and people should be thinking about that.

Oakridge Inn has expressed an interest in having a booya in September and Cheryl Gray will coordinate with Larry Dale and the booya cooks. Also, Burl Johnson from the Fishbowl will be hosting a poker run at the end of July.

Larry Dale has talked to Burl about the land for the maintenance shed. He stated that they would not give us the land but lease it to the club for 99 years.

The next meeting was scheduled for Saturday, June 27, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. at the Hillside.

Al Sikkink won the drawing.

Meeting adjourned at 11:35 a.m.

                                        Respectfullly submitted,

                                        Mary Anne Thompson, Secretary
