Members who worked as volunteers at the Mud Bog in Danbury on May 16 were thanked for their time and services.

Deputy Sheriff Recreational Officer, Ryan Bybee, attended the meeting with two of his assistants, Todd Hoffman and Chris Sower. Officer Bybee described his duties and responsibilities as the recreational officer in Burnett County. He stated that he gives tickets, numerous warnings and that he feels his main job is to stress safety on the trails. Club members had many questions answered..

Larry Dale gave an update of progress on new trails and routes. The Swiss Town Board voted to open roads through Danbury and will be writing their ordinance at the July 14 meeting. That ordinance will be submitted with a letter to Burnett County for their approval. A few weeks ago there was a ribbon cutting ceremony at Smitty’s opening the trails from Siren to Haps Landing. Larry stated that there will be a need for helpers to brush and work on the new trails.

Lynn and Dave Jawish and Dean Joersz appeared before the Grantsburg town board to talk about opening roads in their city. They reported that their request was not treated favorably and the town board members were not very informed about ATV riding. They will continue to work with the police chief and look for routes that could be used.

Carl explained that our club website is being maintained by Chris King from Wausau. Chris said he could set up it up so that we could maintain the website ourselves. We have only paid him $200 so far for all the work and we should decide if we want the capability to maintain the site or sign some kind of contract with Chris. Carl asked for a volunteer to take over the job with no one coming forward.

There are a lot of functions and activities taking place during the month of July and someone should be taking the ATV around to those places to sell raffle tickets. A very few of the members have sold tickets so far and there is a need for many more volunteers. Several people will be taking it to the Siren Fun Days and Parade, Danbury July 4 Parade, the the Fishbowl Bar. We still need volunteers for the Grantsburg Water Skip and Chicog Fire Hall. There will be a Poker Run at the Fishbowl Bar on August 8. Larry Dale has been coordinating that event. Cheryl Gray will coordinate the Booya to be held on September 12 at Oakridge.

Carl circulated a sheet with information about a drag that could be pulled by an ATV and could possibly be used for the new trails. It was decided that the drag will be an item of discussion at the upcoming board of directors meeting.

The next meeting will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. at the Fishbowl Bar.

Winner of the cash drawing was Dean Joersz.

Motion to adjourn was made by Dean Joersz, seconded by Cheryl Gray.

                                        Respectfullly submitted,

                                        Mary Anne Thompson, Secretary
