Carl stated that the club has $12,300 coming from the county for trail work already completed.  We have an estimate for rock and crushed concrete from Hopkins Sand and Gravel for $2,700 for work needed along Highway 35 just out of Danbury.  The snowmobile club has a fund for washouts and research will continue on how to get this work done.

Larry Koch gave a report on various ideas for club fund raisers.  One would be the raffle of a gun with cash as an option should a person not want the gun.  Each member would be given 20 tickets to buy or sell at a price of $2.00 a ticket or three for $5.00.  After a lengthy discussion by the club members and a vote, it was decided that there wouldn’t be enough time to do this before the end of this season.  Members felt it would be a good idea to have it next year to give us enough time to plan and sell tickets.  The other idea was a club ride to an establishment toward Siren with a couple of options discussed.  This would take place this September and consist of food and raffles.  Larry will continue to work on this event and bring it back to the next meeting.

There will be a meat raffle held at Glider’s (formerly Lunkers) next Saturday from 3 to 5 p.m.   Proceeds will go to the club.  Members were urged to come and bring friends and relatives.

Carl read the names of those members who have been working on the trail maintenance and thanked them all.

A grant was approved for nine more miles of gravel  on the trails which will probably take place next spring also a grant for dozing Trail 8.  The 2011-2012 contract for trail maintenance will   include funding for the trail from Haps to Danbury and the three miles on the backside of Hillside.

The club received a bill from Swiss Township for the printing of the ATV ordinance in two newspapers last year.  After a discussion with the club members, Larry Koch made a motion that we pay the bill seconded by Richard Costerisan.  It was noted that we have never paid for such a publication in the past but one of the previous members committed the club to paying this.  Carl indicated that no member of the club is authorized to speak for the club and this is just an instance where someone not authorized made a commitment for the club.

The Burnett County Board passed the ATV routes ordinance and it has been printed in the paper.  Richard Costerisan gave a lengthy report on his participation and opinion of the ordinance.  The request to open County Road H from East Long Lake Road to Swanies has been submitted to the County Board for action at their next meeting.
