Motion was made by Greg Main to approve the financial report seconded by Wayne Johnson.
Trail 925 from the Hillside west to State Line Road has opened. Larry Dale reported that Swiss Township approved their ordinance which opens up everything from Danbury to the south and Lincoln opened up everything. The meeting on August 6 will act on the request to install signs. Bob Morehouse is checking on the request to open riding along County Road F to complete the trail without having to get approval for private land use. He said all other avenues must be exhausted before the request would be considered and approved and it would be the only county road approved for ATV riding. All approved routes/trails must be signed before riding is permitted. There is also a request for bridge construction along County Road H to get from the Cabaret to Rosenthal’s. Harry Patneaude reported that Webb Lake opened their roads year round for ATV riding with a speed limit of 20 mph. No riding on County Roads in Webb Lake.
Carl reported the large number of hours that the trails have been groomed since the last meeting and the number of other trail hours by volunteers . He also noted that he had a load of gravel placed along the trail in Danbury.
The directions, maps and sheets were made available for the Poker Run being sponsored by the Fishbowl Bar next Saturday, August 1. Several people volunteered to deliver the sheets to the six participating establishments.
Cheryl Gray said the Booya is still scheduled for September 12 at the Oakridge Inn. Rick and Mary Anne Thompson and Bruce and Denise Peyton volunteered to take care of the meat raffle for that same day. Cheryl will be talking to the Wlashins about the particulars.
We have gotten the prices for food from Maria for the Fund Raiser/Booya to take place on October 10 at Rosenthal’s. There will be a need for a least 15 people to volunteer and anyone wanting to volunteer was asked to sign up. As of the meeting date, we have sold 520 tickets for $4,729. Members were asked to pick up sold tickets and get them to Carl so we know the status of our sales.
Carl thanked the Peytons, Jawishs’, Chad Alden and friend, and Dean Joersz for their participation in the July 4 activities. Chad is also selling raffle tickets today at the Siren Summer Fest and Cheryl Gray and Carl will be going down there to relieve Chad after the meeting.
The topic of qualifications for the positions of club officers and the executive board was brought up and discussed. It was decided that the executive board should start working on revising the club bylaws. Several people expressed their opinions about the qualifications and the club membership will have the deciding vote on the proposed revisions to the bylaws as they have had in the past. It was felt that the business owners should be getting more involved with the club activities especially those on the trail system.
Winner of the cash drawing was Rick Thompson.
The next meeting will be on September 26, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. at Lunkers Lodge.
Meeting adjourned at 10:50 a.m.
Respectfullly submitted,
Mary Anne Thompson, Secretary
