Many members club expiration dates are during the months of April and May. Everyone was urged to check their membership cards for their club expiration date.

Carl reported that there is a new County Recreational Officer, Ryan Bybbe, replacing Josh Henry.

Larry Dale gave an extensive report on the progress of roads/trails openings in Siren, Webster and Meenon townships. He reported that until signs are in place, ATV riding is prohibited even if the roads have been approved. It is hoped that eventually there will be allowable ATV travel from Siren to Danbury. He will be meeting with the Swiss town board on the second Tuesday in May and felt confident that they will approve riding in Danbury by the time the trails open at the end of May. The area behind the Log Cabin Store was a concern and Harvey Thompson will try to find out who owns the land and what the plans are for that area.

It is the DNR that approves the funding for the trails not the county. We would only pick up about five more miles of actual trails for funding with the new trails because most of it is road riding. There is no requirement that the trails be groomed every week so Carl felt that having that area open would not cause a problem with grooming.

The new trail map is at the printers and takes several weeks to complete. Dean Joersz and Kelly from Log Cabin Store were able to get 15 or 16 new businesses mostly in the Siren/Webster area. We also lost a few businesses but we actually gained more than we lost.

Carl asked for volunteers to do trail cleanup after we have had some rain. He said there is a need for several crews of 4 or 5 people to clean up garbage, check signs, and prune trees where needed.

The idea of a maintenance shed was discussed again and Carl advised the Burl Johnson agreed to donate a piece of land near the Fishbowl where a shed could be erected. Carl said the club has so much equipment in addition to the truck and groomer and it should be kept in one location. Larry Dale has looked at the area and said the land is low and we would need a truck and fill to start with. Larry will check with Burl again about the land.

The Swiss Fire Department is sponsoring a Mud Run on May 16 and the club has donated $500 to them. They are asking the club to provide people to assist with parking and raffle tickets and other club merchandise will be sold that day.

Rick Thompson reported that sales had been slow over the winter and that he has ordered some new merchandise to be sold this year.

Polaris Industries donated about $1000 in merchandise to the club which consists of helmets, shirts, jackets to be used for raffles and fund raisers.

Raffle tickets for the October 10 fund raiser were available at the meeting. The sold tickets and money should be returned to Carl. Carl stated that we will be needing at least 20 people to work the day of the fund raiser.

Larry Dale said they would be conducting a meat raffle at the driving range on a Saturday afternoon in May. He will let us know the details as soon as they have them.

Garry Brooks was the winner of the $33.00 jackpot drawing.

The next meeting will be held at the Pour House in Siren at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2009.

Motion was made to adjourn by Harvey Thompson seconded by Dean Joersz at 11:40 a.m.

                                        Respectfullly submitted,
